Paris Couture Week has kicked off and opening the flurry of labels who will showcase their Fall 2016/2017 collection was Atelier Versace. The Atelier Versace lineup was glamorous and yet functional. Donatella showed us that Fall didn’t necessarily mean fur coats and velvet draping – she brought int an interesting mix of fabric and textures for this collection. Cashmere was paired expertly with satin, creating rather a feminine allure to each look.
The runway was opened by Karen Elson and she wore a pink cashmere coat lined with pale colored shimmery blue slip dress that exhibited sweet femininity with a structure only Donatella could achieve. The rest of the collection featured more of this slip dresses, assymetrical designs, silk, tiered and ruffled necklines, with draping, wrapping, and folding explored in the collection to create intricate shapes and silhouettes.
In addition to Karen Elson, Mariacarla Boscono, Sasha Pivovarova, Iselin Steiro, Joan Smalls, Irina Shayk, Bella Hadid and Carolyn Murphy among were also spotted on the runway.
For the beauty looks, models had messy chignons up do done by Guido Palau and ice blue cat-eyes and glittering burgundy lips by Pat McGrath.
