If you love food as much as I do, you would be more than excited to check out as many food joints as possible. The latest of my food hunting trips was to Food Shack.
As the name implies, Food Shack is a new restaurant with a decently-sized sitting area.
I recently set out with co members of SVTeam, (Nims and Nikki ), in search of this place we had heard about. Although there was no bold sign, a look through their Instagram page told us that Food Shack was located at 32a, Ologun Agbaje Street, Off Adeola Odeku, Victoria Island, Lagos where we found the ‘fork on fire’.
On settling in, we were welcomed by Feyi, the young and hospitable lady behind Food Shack. Few minutes into our conversation with Feyi, one thing stood out- her keenness to learn and move her business forward. We found out later, that she in fact, leaves for the market (Makoko, Sura or Oyingbo) as early as 6:30am everyday to buy fresh groceries for the restaurant.
We soon got down to the business of the day, the food! But first, we ordered drinks. While Nims got their Peach and Plum Breeze cocktail, Nikki got the Apricot Daquiri while I got the Pear Mojito… awesome stuff, I tell you!
This was quickly followed by the starter, kokoro and Coconut Candy.
Next was the main course, two platters filled with potato chips, yam chips, Chicken barbeque wings, ribs, prawns and fish fries.
It was only a matter of time before we were knocked out and were ready to head to our respective homes.
