New York came alive yet again yesterday, not with all the bright lights, but Fashion’s creme as day 4 of the New York fashion week commenced.
Fenty X Puma
The Fenty X Puma collection (the obvious star of the day 4 show) delivered and met all expectations, as with all things Rihanna the pieces told a stylish, sexy story with strings, cut outs, spring colors, oh and did I mention that the stage was super duper crazy!
It was completely dark and had sand dunes (how do you even get sand dunes piled high like that on stage), and of course Rihanna wheeled in to wave in a magnificent bike, uhn uhn, motorcycle, nah, power-bike is more like it. Anyways the most important thing which were the pieces, were a delight of funk, style and sexy which is what the brand represents. Here’s a good look
The Victoria collection had a chic, urban and stylish tale to tell. The pieces were an elaborate mix of mostly sheer pink organza above other fabrics, I’m not certain it would work for the average working class girl but that’s the thing, they are pieces that only the daring, chic girl would put on. There was consideration of the average girl though in soft-power-suits if there ever was a thing like that.
When news came out a while ago that some designers were abandoning ship and were moving to Paris for fashion week, I really expected Gurung might be there, but thank goodness I was so wrong as his collection was one of the really good this season. Perhaps because the pieces were minimalist and chic which is right up my alley, so call me biased already. His signature ruffles and sheer were there but this time he put a daring mix of different plaid and ribbed knit dresses.
