StyleVitae In Conversation With In Vogue Casa

Luxury fashion in Lagos is evolving, with a growing appetite for globally recognised labels and more thoughtfully curated retail experiences. IN VOGUE CASA taps into that demand with a selection of fashion and accessories from familiar and coveted labels, including Balenciaga, Loewe, Celine, The Row, and Toteme, bringing an international luxury offering to the local market.

More than simply stocking designer pieces, the store has positioned itself as a destination for shoppers looking to discover and invest in some of fashion’s most influential labels right here in Lagos. We sat down with the team behind IN VOGUE CASA to talk about the impetus behind the store, and their approach to building a luxury fashion business in Nigeria.

SV: What inspired you to open this store, and why now?

In Vogue Casa: After years of searching, we finally found the right location and built to our specifications.

SV: What sets your store apart from other luxury retailers here in Lagos?

IVC: We offer items from exclusive brands that are only available with us in Nigeria. Our ability to match prices or provide even better prices for the same products you would get overseas also sets us apart. We take no extra premium on the price

SV: What do you want customers to feel the moment they walk through your doors?

IVC: We want our customers to feel like they are visiting a luxury store in NYC or London, and also  a very personalised experience. We even do home visits to ensure that our customers are shopping in comfort. Our interiors are finished with fittings sourced from Japan, USA, France and India. Future Perfect did all our lighting.

SV: What qualities do you look for before bringing a luxury brand into your store?

IVC: We look for high-end and niche items. We also offer exclusive items from our partners.

SV: What’s your personal favourite item in the store today, and why?

IVC: We love the Maison belts from Celine, and they are already sold out globally.

SV: What legacy do you hope this business will leave?

IVC: We hope that we can bring international standards and quality to Nigeria and change the way consumers think of retail in Nigeria. We want to get products that all vendors say no to for Africa, but to us they say yes.

SV: What’s one misconception people have about luxury that you’d like to change?

IVC: People think that Nigeria is more expensive than abroad and that goods are fake. We want to challenge this.

SV: Finally, what would you like to say to everyone discovering your store for the very first time?

IVC: Firstly, I hope they like our interiors, and then I’d ask them to start purchasing from us. When clients spend a minimum amount, we start buying directly for them, and I'd let them know that they can find items they won't find elsewhere from the brands we carry.
