The ELLE Style Award is back after a 6 year hiatus, 2017 was the last year that it took place in the United Kingdom. The award ceremony which is hosted by one of the world's largest fashion magazines - Elle magazine is usually a celebration of creative excellence and elegance in London.
The event took place on Tuesday 5 September 2023 at The Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell, London.
Grammy Award winner, Tems was a sight for sore eyes in a white Alaïa floor length dress as she received the Trailblazer award. She was also recognised as one of the best dressed by Elle Magazine.
In her acceptance speech, Tems said she was grateful to God and her upbringing for how far she has come.
"To be here today reminds me of what it is to be from Lagos Nigeria, it’s such a different environment. It motivates me to keep going because honestly the only thing I remembered was that I’m not here for myself - I wouldn’t be standing here if it wasn’t for God, for Jesus. I am so grateful to be in this environment looking at your beautiful faces."
