I can’t claim to be a makeup artist, far from it, but I like to look pretty so let’s call me an enthusiast! I try to emulate a lot of people and imbibe it into my everyday beauty routine so it I felt a burst of excitement when I was asked as a normal human being to try out a House Of Tara high intensity pigment eyeshadow palette.
The Hajia Gambo Sawaba palette, named for a political activist, is 12 deep hues ranging from blues and purples through to reds and oranges.
I chose two colours – the brown and dark green, blended and finished the look with eyeliner and mascara and it was instant fab.
The pigment feels smooth on the skin, and it didn’t crease throughout the day. In addition, I liked that it is incredibly easy to apply as the powder didn’t fall onto my under eye area as I applied it.
I was surprised that it stayed even longer than any other eyeshadow I’ve ever used.Trust me I’ve used quite a few. You know when you don’t know what suits you and keep buying just because someone says it is cool? I belong to that bandwagon. I was impressed that I didn’t have to retouch it at all during the day or before I went out that evening.
My only reservation would be that I felt the palette had too many bold colours, a couple more neutral shades would have made a nice balance.
All in all I enjoyed using it and will continue to and would definitely be happy to recommend it to anyone.
Have you tried this product, what did you think?
