Diary Of An Isale Eko Girl – Switch Up

Is everyone back in work mode after this super long weekend for the Eid Mubarak Holiday? Well at least those that got a holiday, not me though cause they were regular work days for me. I ain’t complaining though (actually who am I fooling? Please I am complaining, would have rather been home catching up on my fix of Yoruba movies!).

Lagos is so hot that half of the things I would love to put together as an outfit I can’t, unless I intend to pass out from heat stroke, but sometimes I can pull them off at night when the weather is cooler and it doesn’t feel like the sun is placed right on my head.

Anyways the point of this short story is that my style post today is one of those type of looks. Within a few minutes of putting everything on, it almost felt like I was in an oven but I persisted ’cause I was prepared. I totally love how a single thing can transform the entire look of an outfit.

These have to be my favorite pants, the fit, cut, length and texture are perfect. Although the fabric isn’t Nigerian weather friendly as it’s thick, I make it work every time. I am sure we all agree that everything goes perfectly with a white shirt.

Love love love how this look can be turned from a work/day look to a night out/drinks with friends look by just throwing on a jacket and pulling the sleeves up, to give a relaxed and retro biker chick look (if only I was a biker chick right?).

It is the end of the 6th month which is half the year and i am still going strong on my white nail polish for a year statement I made, and no regrets so far, and thinking about it, this color might be here to stay.
