Diary Of An Isale Eko Girl – Sometimes More Is More

Another week another style post and this week it’s about mixing prints. As usual, I never try clothes on prior to shoots or outings, I pick either the top or bottom and randomly select what to mix with it, and I honestly didn’t expect the mix to come out this fabulous but it did!

I bought this print Ankara dress during the Beth-O sales sometime early last year. I particularly like how they cut up different patterns of fabric and put it together into a dress. I fell in love at first sight and strangely it was a perfect fit, considering that most times finding my exact size and fit is such a struggle.

I further mixed things up with a jacket which I also got made by mixing two different colors but in the same print together. Normally I would wear this over a solid colour dress or denim and a top but decided to take a risk and mix all the patterns and prints together. To be honest I got inspiration from Lisa Folawiyo; her mix and match game is too strong, especially with prints for her designs, and they all always come out looking perfect so I figured why not try it myself and it beat my expectations.

I love how the dress is easy breezy and can be worn separately and still be a killer outfit but the jacket just gives it the perfect polish. Don’t you agree? Brought out my silver mules to complete the look, as a neutral because the outfit already had so much going on.

They say happy girls are the prettiest and I definitely agree with that. I have been in such a good place lately and I am thankful and grateful for all the love and happiness I have coming my way from different places.

Love & Light. xx
