And the September covers keep coming. This time its Harper’s Bazaar and it boasts a star-studded crowd.
The weekend, Courtney Love, Dionne Warwick, Travis Scott, Miranda Lambert, Candice Swanpoel, Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss, Irina Shayk, Adriana Lima and Natasha Poly.
The concept was Bazaar Icons, perhaps to mark the magazine’s 150th anniversary.
Though there are a number of stars, focus seems to be on The Weekend, who graces the cover with top models Irina Shayk and Adriana Lima.
The weekend who has always been more than a little mysterious (which I love BTW), opened up a little on his background which are very humble beginnings, starting his career, and his love for villains.
I remember the first time I listened to his song (a friend told me she had discovered new talent on you tube, yeah we did that sometimes, exchanging new music discoveries), it was ‘love in the sky’ from his first mix tape, his soulful sexy voice was it for me, and it became my designated song of the month. I went on to get the rest of the album and been a fan ever since.
On his style, he names Nas and Puff daddy as his inspiration and states that he used to hate suits but now gets the hang of it.
The interview didn’t say why he cut his locks , I really wish he hadn’t, but it mentioned how he’s trying to get used to it and how it still doesn’t stop his getting asked awkward questions about his hair.
From a shack in downtown Toronto to sharing a cover with two very hot and very successful top models and of course having one of the biggest pop albums of all time, Abel Tesfaye a.k.a The weekend has come a long way.
