Let’s Bag It – Going By Fall 2017 Shows, Size Still Matters

For a minute, I thought the days of ‘mama’s bags’ were over. You know, those bags that even a mini fridge can fit into. I used quite a number during my university days. There were so many mini bags last year, I actually thought that they (mama’s bags) had gone to rest. From New York to London to Milan to Paris, Fall 2017 shows have proven otherwise – size truly matters and mama’s bags are going nowhere, at least not yet.

The oversized bags at this year’s Fall shows mostly fell into one of two categories: totes and hobos. Bag lovers in the mid-to-late 2000s will recognize the hobos.

If you need to carry many things at once in everyday life, you will love these bags. See the best runway examples of the season’s trend below.
