Everyone’s fave tennis star Serena Williams is releasing a new beauty line and we are so here for it.
According to reports from TMZ, Serena Williams is getting into the beauty game, too: She filed documents to trademark “Aneres” (yep, that’s Serena spelled backwards) in a range of beauty categories, including skin care, makeup-removing products, colognes, perfumes, makeup kits, bath soaps, lipstick, lipgloss, eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara. She had also previously secured the trademark rights for the brand name in the clothing category.
Following the incredible success achieved by eponymous celebrity beauty brands like Fenty Beauty, Kylie cosmetics and KKW beauty, and Serena’s entrepreneurial and business acumen to site an opportunity never in doubt, this comes as no surprise. The Aneres beauty line will no doubt bolster Williams’s entrepreneurial profile, which is already quite prolific. In 2017, Williams topped Forbes’s list of the highest-paid female athletes, with her career prize money totaling $84 million — and she also brought in $19 million from her endorsement deals for brands like Nike, Gatorade, Piguet, Beats, Intel and Chase over the course of the year.
Asides this, we also think this could be a step towards broadening the different views on industry standards regarding what beauty is supposed to look like, especially with negative remarks related to William’s every beauty choice. No doubt, this would also concentrate on sports friendly beauty products or athleisure beauty if you like, she ‘s been known to talk about how eyeliner is the only product she can wear to court since any other beauty item would run.
All things considered, this would surely make for a most interesting lineup and we can’t wait to see it.
